                    Building Regulation Part 'L'

Compliance               

Following the 'European Performance of Buildings Directive' 2002, the UK with along with other member states is required to meet certain targets and timescales for reducing CO2 emissions into the environment. The directive led amongst other things to 'The Building Regulations 2006 Part L' to particularly deal with Energy Performance of Buildings

Parts L1A & L1B relate to new and renovated dwellings respectively.

Part L2A relates to new build and large extensions of non-dwellings.

Part L2B relates to renovation, refurbishment and smaller extensions of non-dwellings.

Architects and Designers need to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulation Approved Documents L2A and L2B before the building is constructed by submitting calculations produced a qualified assessor using approved software such as SBEM. After completion a final Energy Performance Certificate is also required.

NHA Licenced and Accredited Assessors provide Designers and Architects with 'Off Plan' L2A and L2B compliance checks and advice during the design process through to BRUKL approval. - Serving clients in Merseyside, Cheshire, Manchester, North Wales and London locations.
